Dearly beloved brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, dearest friend and most important dearest Brother in Christ Anthony Lewis Viviano passed away on 12/27/14 in Elk Grove CA where he resided.
Anthony (Tony) was 3rd born son to Joseph and Vivian Viviano (both deceased). He is also predeceased by his two other brothers Richard and Joseph Viviano. He is survived by Elizabeth Mata (Fidel) Gilroy, Sister In Law Martha Viviano of Florida, Nieces Jaci Viviano of Concord CA and Sara Badillo (Jesse) and their children of Gilroy, niece Megan Viviano of Florida, Paradiso Family Cousins, Dearest friend Jude Steele of Elk Grove CA and dear friends AI and Sharon Wheelock of Peoria AZ.
Tony earned two AA degrees, maintaining honor roll status while attending college in Phoenix AZ where he once resided for much of his adult life. He was currently working on his 3rd AA degree in Elk Grove while attending College there maintaining good grades.
Tony served 6 years in the military and National Guard combined. He had retired from JC Penney as a maintenance supervisor while living in AZ and afterwards used his carpentry skills to remodel kitchens, build furniture while living in AZ and Alaska where he lived for about 5 years.
Tony in his younger years was an avid hiker and published a book about hiking. He belonged to the Glendale Hiking Club and was responsible for building the hiking trails along all the borders of AZ. He led hiking expeditions throughout Arizona . His wife at the time Glenola Viviano also joined in on the expeditions. He also hiked the highest mountains with AI his hiking buddy in New Mexico, Texas, Utah and Nevada.
Tony was a Christian and became very close to the Lord. He enjoyed serving the Lord and had a walking ministry where he would minister to people on the streets and pray for them and at the college he was attending. He was very sacrificial volunteering his time at the churches he had attended doing remodeling and building anything that was needed. His neighbors shared how much they loved him because he genuinely cared and shared whatever he had with everyone.
Tony was currently attending the Carpenters House Church in Elk Grove and was very happy there. Tony Viviano, my brother, will be deeply missed by my husband Fidel and I. We became very close after he moved back to California and of course drew even closer after our family losses. He was the sweetest brother, we went on vacations together and it was so nice because he was so spiritual and peaceful. I never wanted to say good bye after visiting with him. He left me with the spirit of Peace. Now he is with my family whom he missed a lot and with the Lord he loved.
Graveside services will be held 11:30AM, Friday, January 16, 2015 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 West McCabe Road, Santa Nella, CA 95322.
