IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anthony Salvadore
Taormino, Jr.
September 26, 1945 – February 14, 2017
Anthony Salvadore Taormino Jr., "Tony" passed away suddenly but peacefully in Gilroy, California, where he had lived for 46 years. He was 71 years old.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mora Taormino, daughter Angela Taormino and son in law Nikita Mikros, daughter Emily Taormino, son Anthony Salvadore Taormino III and daughter in law Erin Taormino, nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends, and his beloved dogs Shadow and Abby.
An incredibly kind and generous person, Tony was a horseman and animal lover, who bred, raised, and showed Quarter horses. A school bus driver for 32 years and driver trainer for 28, Tony was a CASTO chapter president and trained hundreds of school bus drivers in the Bay Area over the course of his career (including one of his daughters). An ardent Catholic, he was an active member of the ICF, a long time parishioner at St. Mary's, and a Eucharistic Minister.
A memorial mass will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, February 21st at St. Mary's Church in Gilroy. A reception will follow at the Gilroy High School Student Center, 750 W. 10th Street. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be made to one of these organizations in his honor: The Italian Catholic Federation (icf.org), or The Friends of San Martin Animal Shelter (fosmas.org).
