IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Angelica
Covarrubias
September 18, 1967 – October 25, 2021
Angelica Covarrubias passed on Monday, October 25 th 2021 at the age 54. She is survived by her two children, eight siblings, countless nieces and nephews and immeasurable friends and community. In passing, she joins her father Joaquin Covarrubias and brother-in-law Eleazer Sandoval.
Born in Los Asmoles, Mexico, Angelica's family migrated to the United States when she was only five-years old in order to seek life-saving medical treatment for her brother. She began working from a young age, first picking fruits and vegetables with her siblings throughout the South Bay, and carried that work ethic into adulthood. Most notably, Angelica made her mark working at Burger King and Rebekah's Children Services with her generosity, kindness and unparalleled care for the well-being of friends and colleagues.
Commonly known as Nina Gello, she is remembered broadly as a Godmother and loving presence who would go above and beyond to bring smiles to anyone who crossed her path. This was especially true, if you had the opportunity to enjoy her incredible cooking. If you knew her, you'd know that her food was more than just a meal. It was a safe-place, a symbol of her love and compassion, and a craft that she poured her heart into with ease. Angelica's greatest joy was seeing the people that she loved happy.
