Alicia "Chiche" Lorente
Alicia "Chiche" Lorente was born July 5th, 1936, in Buenos Aires, Argentina and passed away at home with family in Gilroy California on April 21st, 2026.
"Chiche" attended Nuestra Senora de Los Angeles Catholic School in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
She worked at the Confiteria Ideal in Buenos Aires until she married the Love of her Life, our Late and Beloved father and husband to Alicia, Mario Eloy Lorente.
They migrated to the United States in 1962 with their two daughters Cristina and Hebe. Chiche would later have another daughter in 1971, Adriana.
Alicia worked at Fairchild Semiconductor for 4 years, then at Wiltron Company for 11 years as a Quality Control Inspector. She then drove semi-truck for 5 years up and down the Western Seaboard. Subsequently owned and operated a day care "Little Hearts" for 11 years.
Alicia "Chiche" was an excellent Tango dancer, and she was also an excellent cook. She loved the great outdoors, especially Yosemite National Park, where they would vacation every year. Yosemite's Beauty and Splendor was a very special place for Mario and Alicia's family and still is to this day, with her daughters and other family carrying on this tradition. Chiche loved art, beauty, animals, movies, music, especially Rock 'n' Roll and fine cuisine. Alicia's interests were wide ranging, having passion and curiosity across many fields.
Alicia was the epitome of beauty, not just her captivating radiance, but her beautiful soul, authenticity, charm and grace, and a kind passionate heart. She was intelligent, funny, sassy, loving, caring yet fearless in her ways. We loved her dearly. She will always be with us in our hearts.
Alicia was preceded in death by her parents Hector and Consuelo Nadal, her husband Mario Eloy Lorente, her sister Mercedes Dias, her brother Hector Nadal, her nephew Beto Dias.
She is survived by her daughters and their husbands Cristina Lorente Jurevich and David Jurevich of Hollister CA. Hebe Lorente Navarro and Jerry Navarro of Gilroy CA. Adriana Lorente Cheng and Charlie Cheng of Gilroy CA. Grandsons Daniel Mario Navarro and wife Tasha Navarro of Gilroy Ca. Branden Kai Rojas of Gilroy CA. Great-Grandsons Dylan and Tristan Navarro of Gilroy CA. Her late sister Mercedes' son Walter "Wally" Dias of Modesto CA., Her late brother Hector's son Chico Nadal. Chiche is also survived by Our Beloved Lorente Family with 12 nieces and nephews, 20 grand nieces and nephews, and 11 great-grand nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service to be held 2:00pm, Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 Fourth Street, Gilroy, CA 95020.
