Aleene Edwards went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday January 11, 2015 at the age 77, with her loving husband of 59 years John Edwards by her side.


Aleene moved to Morgan Hill with her family in 1976. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family and home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. In 1998, Aleene and her husband opened "The Lighthouse", a youth center for teens in Morgan Hill. Their mission was to help at-risk teens by giving them a safe place to hang out and show Jesus' love to them. She spent countless hours volunteering her time at the center to minister to the youth in her community.


She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Grace Brown, and siblings Junior, Martha, Marvin, Ruby, and Louis. She is survived by her daughter Theresa and son-in-law Mike, her son Ashley and daughter-in-law Terri, grandchildren John, Krystle, and Robyn, great­grandson Westley, and her surviving siblings, Verna, Raymond, Don, Mazie, Jimmy, and Naomi.

A memorial service to commemorate her life will be held at Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 1pm.
