IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Albertina -
Alatorre
February 1, 1934 – December 23, 2020
It is with great sorrow that we announce our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Albertina Alatorre, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on December 23, 2020.
Albertina was born on February 1, 1934 in Hollister California to Pauline (Gaxiola) and Antonio Bojorquez. She was raised in Salinas before moving to Morgan Hill, where she graduated from Live Oak High School in 1952. She met her life partner, Peter Alatorre, in Gilroy and the two happily married in front of the Lord at St. Mary's Church on September 29, 1956. They raised 4 beautiful children together; Cindy Talavera, Michael Alatorre, Brenda Large, and Liz Alatorre.
Albertina worked at Simonsen Laboratories for many years before finding her passion in education and obtaining a job with Gilroy Unified School District as a paraprofessional in 1974. She began her career as an educator at Glen View before moving to El Roble Elementary, where she retired after 25 years.
She led with her faith and guided her children toward the Lord. She was a charismatic Christian and taught catechism at St. Mary's Church for 25 years, where she introduced the love of our Father to her grandchildren. She instilled in us the need to trust in the Lord who fills us with strength to keep going and does not put anything in our path that we cannot handle.
After losing her husband and father of her children, Albertina confided in the Lord and called on him to take care of them. She found strength in her wedding vows, which were very sacred to both her and Peter, and she remained committed to him and the Lord. Her faith in the Lord as her Savior was the strength she needed to get through her life without our Dad.
Albertina was preceded in death by her parents Pauline and Antonio Bojorquez, her husband Peter Alatorre, and siblings Maria Sandoval, Virginia Rodriguez and Lupe Romero.
She is survived by all 4 of her children and their life partners Louie Talavera, Bryan Large and Andrew Ojeda. Her brother, Tony Bojorquez. Her lifelong friends Bertha Rivas and Bob and DeeDee Matteucci. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Christopher, Raelyn and Rachelle Talavera… Brianna and Brandon Alatorre… Chelsey Newton, Sheila Krenzer, Christopher Montoya, Trevor and Jonathan Large… JR and Evalina Benavidez, Andrew and Kayla Ojeda. Memories of her will always live on through her 18 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
